Paradise is designed to meet the pioneering UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standards, combining a low‑carbon timber and efficient material usage to achieve be one of the lowest embodied carbon office buildings in London.

The building has been crafted to minimise the embodied carbon from the outset, designing out material usage, such as ceilings and plasterboard. Throughout the building, high carbon materials were replaced with lower carbon alternatives, with the use of timber instead of carbon-intensive steel and concrete.

Paradise is engineered to run efficiently from day one, with a thermally tight fabric reducing the underlying need for energy, and the building systems connected to an advanced optimisation system, maintaining a comfortable environment without costing the earth. It is designed to achieve the international CREEM standards for operational energy use.

The building is all-electric, utilising high-efficiency heat pumps with low carbon refrigerant, minimising the carbon emissions from operating the building. An extensive roof top photovoltaic array generates 5% of the overall building energy use, reducing the stress on the electricity grid.
